Applicants are expected to be financially capable of supporting themselves on this programme in Malaysia.

Upon Submission:

Applicant age ABOVE 50 years old Applicant age BELOW 50 years old
To show proof of liquid assets worth a minimum of MYR 350,000 To show proof of liquid assets worth a minimum of MYR 500,000

Upon receipt of Pre Conditional Approval:

Applicant age ABOVE 50 years old Applicant age BELOW 50 years old
To place a fixed deposit of MYR 150,000 with a local banks or financial institutions. * To place a fixed deposit of MYR 300,000 with a local banks or financial institution. *
To obtain a medical report (Form RBII) certified by a local medical practitioner. To obtain a medical report (Form RBII) certified by a local medical practitioner.
To obtain a medical health insurance policy (local/worldwide) issued by a local insurance company. To obtain a medical health insurance policy (local/worldwide) issued by a local insurance company.
New applicant who has purchased properties worth at least MYR 1 million could qualify to place a lower fixed deposit of MYR 100,000 with the local banks or financial institutions. ** New applicant who has purchased properties worth at least MYR 1 million could qualify to place a lower fixed deposit of MYR 150,000 with the local banks or financial institutions. **
  • After a period of one year, participants may withdraw certain amount for approved expenses relating to house purchase, education for children in Malaysia and medical purposes.*
  • Participants under this programme may withdraw their entire fixed deposit anytime with prior written approval from the Ministry of Tourism should they decide to terminate their stay in Malaysia under this programme.
  • For 50 & above, only applicants who receive Government Pensions can apply to waive the required Fixed Deposit subject to Ministry’s approval.
  • Additional documentation to be duly certified true copy by commissioner for oath: **
    1. A copy of the sales & purchase agreement
    2. Receipt of payments to developer / properties disposer
    3. A copy of the parcel property catalogue (if any)
    4. A copy of state consent / Transfer of Title
  • Restrictions:Participants under Malaysia My Second Home Programme are not allowed to work/be employed while staying in Malaysia except those who were issued special work permits. In addition, they should not participate in activities that can be considered as sensitive to the local people and a threat to the security of the country.
